Steela Pools

Engineered stainless steel panels are used to form pool walls. The panels’ front sides are hot rolled with a rigid PVC layer, and the backside is protected from chemicals and the environment with clear-coat laminate.

The Wall Structure

Engineered stainless steel panels are used to form pool walls. The panels front sides are hot rolled with a rigid PVC layer, and the backside is protected from chemicals and the environment with clear-coat laminate. The panels are bolted to both the base-frame and to each other. The use of stainless steel and PVC avoids the necessity of steel welds and eliminates the risk of structural corrosion.

The Support Buttresses

Between each panel joint is a vertically reinforced seam where a stainless steel buttress is used to provide rigidity and strength to the structure. Each buttress is anchored to the concrete footing. The resulting pool structure is both sturdy and elastic and is therefore ideal for installations with difficult ground conditions (i.e., seismic zones, unstable soils etc.)

The Overflow Gutter

The Modular Steela Pools overflow gutter is made of the same stainless steel/PVC combination as our wall panels. To create a near silent overflow and limit the wasteful evaporation of pool chemicals, one of the gutter walls may be inclined to create a controlled diagonal flow. The overflow gutter grate is patented and is compliant to the standards of UNI EN 13451 series.

Water Proofing

The pre-manufactured panel structure of our pools creates seams in pool walls where panels meet. To ensure a completely waterproof tank, the PVC laminate on the fronts of all panels are bonded together using a PVC liquid that also penetrates the joint between panels to create a perfect, long-lasting seal. The result is an extremely trustworthy and resilient joint that is undetectable to the eye.

Finishing

Finishing touches help complete the pool design but also serve a practical purpose. Covering the top edge of the pool with mosaics or tiles protects the wall beneath while also giving the opportunity to introduce some creativity and customization.
